I'm not sure if scriptics apply only to people...anyone?

If it has a proper name, then go for it. I'm thinking like Spuds Mackenzie - a dog but he/she was well known.

Just my opinion that it makes no diff.

You can look in the search function--enter the word "scriptic" and you'll see there have been a few that weren't people. But they generally have something in the question to indicate that they are variations on the theme.
