I had posted a slightly touchy reply because I got mixed up in the changes to the answer (I tried after he said he'd changed it but before he had finished the changes). When I got the correct answer, I replaced my post with what you see now. It didn't occur to me that it would be confusing to read.

Good to know--it had never really occurred to me that I don't know the gender of most of the people here. I have assigned genders to many of the names without any basis in fact, and since so little personal info comes up in questions or board posts, never questioned whether I was right or not.
For anyone who cares, I'm male, single, 44, and live in the DFW area. And Staley isn't my name, or a nickname, or anything anyone who knows me would be able to figure out. It's just a name I picked out of the air when I registered for this game. I use it in a few other places online now, though.

In the place we inhabited before this one we had a section for profiles which is probably how we old-timers got most of our info on fellow players.
