Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The average American has about $90 worth of this in their home...WHAT?
Was on the board for 11 hours. It was eminently gettable, and I imagine a few of you, if not all of you, got it as a TOTHer after a try or two.
However, I don't recall ever having seen it! I check the board every few hours when I can. I remember seeing my Kunta Kinte, which hit before it and Charlene's address one which hit after it. Somehow this one stayed invisible to me.
Not the first time, either. I check back on "old questions" once a day to see answers I never got. While the 2 or 3 hour "never saw it" question can be easily explained (i.e., never checked board in that time span), every so often I get this situation: clearly, I'd been at TI during the life of a Question, but just never remember seeing it.

I haven't had that problem.
The problem I have is with answers.
For instance, the Holiday Inn q, I put towels right away but was told I had 0 right.
I found the battery part of the q looking it up and trying it on the second try.
I think I used about twelve trys before giving up.
Today, I check the answers and there it is, towels.
This has happened to me many times. I think I even may have complained about this on the previous IT board, too.
I'd like to know why that happens...?

I've never had the question problem but I have had the answer problem.
I have even tried the same answer several times cuz I just "know" it's right.
Then when the q rolls, I indeed had it correct. puzzling.
